height , six feet and one inch, approximately.
weight , 210 pounds.
tattoos and piercings , Just one ear piercing.
distinguishing features , Well, in certain colors, he has really blue eyes, and otherwise, mostly his style. He just looks cowboy through and through.
physical flaws , He's a little bit bow legged, from so much time in the saddle, actually.
personal style , Psh, Dell is a cowboy, through and through. Everything about him says it. Wranglers or Levis, hat, and cowboy boots, at all times. Occasionally you'll catch him in a hoodie sweatshirt and ball cap, usually for the academy bonfires and stuff, but you'll basically never see him part with his boots.

- Losing
- Overly stubborn horses...or people, for tha tmatter
- Barrack Obama. xD

strengths ,
Determined - Kordell is extremely determined. If he decides he's going to win, he usually does, and if he doesn't, he goes home and practices harder and comes back and wins the next time. He finishes everything he starts, and doesn't procrastinate, ever. In fact, procrastinators really bother him.
Loyal - Dell is probably one of the most loyal guys you could ever meet. He would honestly take a bullet for anyone of his friends, and he's been known to get into a few fist fights when people start trash talking things he loves. He would also be extremely loyal to any girlfriend he ever got. He wouldn't just sleep around or go behind her back. She would be treated like a queen.
Steady - Kordell is a really steady person. He's not prone to fits of rage or anything like that. He's the kind of person who's a rock to his friends when they're in the middle of hell, something solid and stable and sort of unchanging.
weaknesses ,
Temper - This isn't really the word for it, nor is impatient, although it's true he doesn't have much patience for people he thinks are stupid. He has a really short fuse when you start trashing things he's loyal, too, and he tends to throw the first punch before he asks any questions.
Quiet - This is actually a bit of a weakness. He wasn't always this way, it's more of a recent thing, but it makes it harder for him to relate to people. He tends to sort of get wrapped up in his own little world.
Addicted - He tends to get addicted to things extremely easily, thus the reason he turned into an alcoholic extremely quickly upon his return from Iraq.
fears ,
- that someone he cares about will go away to war. He wouldn't wish that on anyone.
- having to kill someone...again.
overall personality , Well, Kordell is a pretty quiet person, but he wasn't always. He used to be extremely carefree and he would joke around with everyone and he made friends easily. Now he's extremely quiet and introverted. He tends to keep to himself a lot. He doesn't talk about much. However, he's a really good friend if you take the time to get past the sort of rough exterior he's had to put around himself. He's a complete sweet heart and actually quite the softy. He's loyal to the death, and really good with kids, for all his problems. He's a superb teacher and great with horses, as well as troubled people and animals. He's a man of any talents, but he's very humble.

history , the beginning
Anna Branson and Jeff Brantley were high school sweet hearts. He was a champion roper, and she was a barrel racer. They rodeoed together on their high school team, and dated all through high school. They married as soon as they graduated, neither opting to go to college, and settled down with Jeff's parents on the old family ranch. When they were fairly young, Kordell came along. He was an extremely easy, content child to get along with. He was in the saddle as soon as he was born, riding with either of his parents, and he started working at a young age. He loved every minute of it, and from the time he was tiny, he knew he wanted to do something with horses. When he was 12, he received Hollywood Who Dunnit as a gift. His parents had been breeding premier paints for a few years at the time, and the colt was a lovely little horse, very trainable and easy to get along with. Dell did everything with that little horse, and, much to everyone's surprise, trained him to rain. He took Woodie to the AjPHA (American Junior Paint Horse Association) championships and took second. At 18, he went to the worlds and won the Amateur division, just before he left for boot camp.
The War
Just after he won the worlds, Kordell went off to bootcamp, to train for the marines. From there, he went to Iraq, where he made his first tour. Upon coming home, he returned to training to become a sniper, and after that made 2 more tours in Iraq. It was his choice, and everyone knew that he believed strongly in the cause. Kordell never did anything he didn't want to do, nor did he fight for anything he didn't believe in. Still, a lot of people wondered if it had been a wise decision, for all he received a purple heart award. He was never really the same after that.
Until the Present
Upon return from his final tour in Iraq, he sort of wandered aimlessly. He wasn't really sure what to do with his life. His first year or so, he got into some pretty hard alcoholism. He was a rather broken down soldier with a heck of a lot of emotional baggage, and an addiction to boot. He helped out with the ranch, but he wasn't really into it, not like he used to be. After a while, his parents talked him into going to counseling. He knew it was necessary, for all he hated it, and it did indeed help. He managed to kick the bottle and he started getting proactive. He decided he needed another project, and he bought Pixie, rather on a spur of the moment decision. Not long after that, he applied for the reining instructor position here at Brinley, and was thrilled when he was accepted. Now, here he is. Things are looking a lot better, and he's getting a little closer to his old self, getting more friendly, but it'll be a long road. Still, things are looking up, that's for sure.
