height , five foot two
weight , an even one-hundred pounds
tattoos and piercings , only ear piercings
distinguishing features , well, let‘s see. ashlyn stands right around five foot two, so she‘s not the tallest thing out there. her hair is naturally brown with a hint of red in the sunlight. it‘s not super long, but she thinks it‘s long enough; when she wears it naturally wavy as she usually does, it falls down past her chest. when it‘s straight, obviously it‘s a little longer, but she likes the way it is naturally so that‘s how it‘s usually styled. when it comes to her body, she might not be tall, but she makes up for it other wise. her legs are long for her height, so she looks good in dresses or skirts and she‘s a rather healthy weight - not skinny enough to see every bone in her body, but thin enough to not have love handles. she‘s definitely pretty, that‘s for sure.
physical flaws , like a lot of girls out there, her hair tends to get incredibly greasy if she doesn‘t wash it every day. to some, the fact that she's short is considered a flaw, but to her, it's just the way she is and it doesn't really bother her all that much.
personal style , when it comes to casual dress, she loves color, hats and scarves. she likes wearing skinny jeans and she has a large variety of shoes, her favorites being cute flats and a couple pairs of heels. if you saw her walking down the street, you wouldn't immediately think "horseback rider," but she's perfectly comfortable in breeches and boots, too.

strengths ,
RIDING; it's something she's done for quite some time and she's rather good at it
HONESTY; even though she's not blunt and she doesn't exactly butt into other people's business, when asked, she'll be completely honest
COMPETING; again, it's something that she's done for a while so the stress and the nerves don't really affect her as much as they use to
weaknesses ,
COMPETING; it's both a strength and a weakness. she might not feel the nerves all that much, but when she does, it really affects her riding.
MAKING FRIENDS; it's not that she doesn't want to, she just isn't quite sure how to go about talking to someone new. once she opens up, though, she's perfectly fine. it just takes a bit for her to open up
fears ,
SPIDERS; the little ones don't really bother her all that much, but the bigger ones creep her out, especially the hairy ones. what girl doesn't hate spiders?
FAILING; even though she's not exactly sure of what she wants to do with the rest of her life, she's afraid to fail at it.
HEIGHTS; she tends to keep this one quiet, but the thought of being up any higher than on a horse makes her nervous.
overall personality , all in all, ashlyn in herself, not who others want her to be. she's kind of quiet when she's first meeting someone, so some people mistake her to be stuck up when really she doesn't know exactly what to say. after the first awkward introduction is over, though, ashyln opens up a lot more and it doesn't take a long time to get to know her. she's very opinionated, but she doesn't just blurt it out bluntly unless it's really, really bothering her. she absolutely loves her horse; she wouldn't trade him for the world. she's kind of adventurous and she loves to be outside. when it comes to school work, she doesn't really study all that much, though her marks are all a's and a couple b's in her not-so-favorite classes.

history , BEFORE ASHLYN WAS BORN, there was mister joshua macauley and miss denise langton, the cute couple who met and started dating their freshman year of college. once the couple was out of college and starting their new careers, josh popped the question and a few months later, miss denise langton was missus denise macauley. the honeymoon was sweet, a week and a half in hawaii. since the two were just starting off in their new jobs and working on paying off their school loans, they decided to wait a little while to have kids. about a year later, ashlyn was concieved and that's where her story starts.
ON A CLOUDY MAY TWELVTH in missoula, montana, ashlyn fait macauley was born. her childhood wasn't anything special, just your typical girl living in a typical house in a typical neighborhood. at eleven and a half, she started horseback riding and loved it. six months later, she came across promise and started leasing her. promise's owner was in college and didn't really have time for the mare, but she didn't want to sell her. when she was thirteen, her parents bought an adorable sheltland sheepdog puppy as a family pet, but cassie quickly became her dog, following her wherever she went. around thirteen and a half, promise's owner decided it was time to give the horse up and went to ashlyn's parents, asking if they wanted to buy the pretty buckskin mare. of course their answer was yes and voila - they had a new family member.
ASHLYN'S LOVE LIFE isn't all that impressive or all that long for that matter. when she was fifteen, she had her first boyfriend and they dated for about seven months. it was wonderful, though she really isn't sure she could call it 'love'. oh they fought from time to time - what couple doesn't? - but there was no epic battle that ended their relationship, it just sort of fizzled out. she always thought if she really loved him, she would have tried just a little bit harder to keep it going.
HORSEBACK RIDING has been her favorite hobby ever since she started. she has always rode english and she started jumping about two years into lessons. promise was trained a lot in dressage and just a little bit in jumping, but once ashlyn started riding her, they both learned to jump more together and ashlyn started to learn dressage. they compete in events as well as your typical english classes, pleasure, equitation, showmanship, but they both seem to enjoy jumping the most.

Pulling the plain, but very bright t-shirt over his head, Jason winced as the stitches tugged against his side, protesting his arms’ upward movement. The first time he had gone through this, he had been stuck in the hospital for a week afterwards, so he hadn’t really been annoyed by the stitches. It just plain hurt to put a shirt on when he got home the week after, thanks to the large bruise that seemed to cover most of his body. Now it wasn't nearly as painful. Sure, the incision that had been made along his side hurt; it was like a deep, long cut, of course it was going to hurt. That he didn’t really worry about too much, though, he had drugs that fixed the hurting. Legal drugs, yes, and lucky enough for him, he could actually take them and drive.
Grumbling quietly to himself, he grabbed a pair of jeans out of his huge closet and pulled them on, sighing a breath of relief when they didn’t rub his stitches. He absolutely hated going out in public wearing sweatpants unless he was running, and these jeans were cut low enough they didn’t bother his side. Staring at the floor of the closet, he looked around at all of the different shoes lying neatly around the bottom. Most of them were Annie’s; he tended to keep his favorites in the garage. The ones in here were the ones he didn’t wear quite as much, usually because they didn’t match as much as the ones in the garage. Making a face, he looked around again before finally finding a pair and picking them up. He wasn’t big on wearing his shoes in the house, he just didn’t find it comfortable.
Making his way slowly down the stairs, he tossed the shoes by the door that led out to the garage. Grabbing the keys to his shiny, silver Mercedes, he smiled ever so slightly to himself as he turned to the basket setting on the counter nearest the door that housed a few pairs of his sunglasses. Picking out his white Raybans, he slid them on his face before opening the door to the garage and sitting down delicately to slide his shoes on, wincing again as he stood up to make his way over to his car. Slipping into the driver’s seat, he bit his lip when his stitches pulled against his skin again. He couldn’t wait until they were out. Shaking his head, he reminded himself he was lucky to be moving around as painlessly as he was.
Starting his car, he opened the garage door and backed out slowly, sitting in the driveway as he scrolled through the hundreds of songs on his iPod, not quite sure what he was interested in listening to at the moment. Scanning through, he reached towards the dashboard and pressed a button to put the top down; he loved his convertible, especially when it was warm enough to put the top down. He finally stopped on Stevie Wonder’s Superstition, the smile growing ever so slightly on his face. It was a good song, something he was definitely in the mood to listen to. He shut the garage door as he continued to back out of the driveway, only now realizing he wasn’t quite sure where he was off to. All he knew was that he was sick of sitting in his house, he had to go somewhere.
Jason shrugged to himself and headed down the familiar roads to downtown Salt Lake. He wasn’t crazy about the idea, but if he found nothing else to do, he could venture through the stores in Trolley Square. It seemed like he spent a ton of time in the malls, regardless of where he lived, but perhaps that was one of the many reasons he and Anabel got along so well; they both loved to shop. Right now, he decided he had enough clothes and he was hoping to find something better than shopping to do. He technically wasn’t supposed to be lifting anything and sometimes when he shopped, his bags could get kind of heavy.
It took a moment for one of the signs he passed to really sink into his brain, but once he realized what it was, he turned down the road it was pointing to, knowing that spending this warm day outside would be so much better than spending it in a crowded mall. Besides, there were plenty of trees around Liberty Park, if he got hot, he could go sit in the shade. Sighing as he neared the park, he wished he brought his guitar. He hadn’t been in the mood to play when he left his house, but he was now. Seeing a small restaurant, he pulled in the parking lot and got out of his car, looking quite peculiar to anyone watching him as he searched his basically empty backseat before going to his trunk, finding a small, leather-bound book. Flipping it open, he smiled as he saw the familiar staff paper, a few songs written in his scribbled, musical sketching. Most of them were for piano, but there was one or two for guitar, though he could play all of them on either instrument. Climbing back in his driver’s seat slowly, he set the book down on the seat next to him and continued his drive to the park.
After a few moments of searching the parking lot, Jason found a halfway decent place to park his car. He wasn’t incredibly picky, but he didn’t want his new car to get a huge dent in the side. Allowing the convertible top to slide back into place, he got out slowly, letting his breath out languidly, expecting the twinging along his side this time. Reaching across to get his music book, he grabbed it, double checking to make sure the black pen he tended to keep with it was still in it, locking his car as he walked towards the park. It really was a nice day; how much of this had he been missing when he had been trapped inside?
He didn’t walk long, maybe five or ten minutes before he began to look for a place to sit, knowing Ana wouldn’t be happy with him if he hurt himself when he was out for the first time since his surgery. Wandering around for a few minutes more, he found a fairly empty part of the park, a field with trees scattered around it. Jason made his way over to one of the trees and very, very slowly sat down at the base of it, resting his back against the large tree’s trunk. Only once he was down did he realize getting up would be interesting. Laughing at himself, he opened his leather book and held his pen in his hand, not quite sure what he wanted to write, music wise. Usually, he’d just start playing and if he liked it, he’d write it down. When he didn’t have his guitar, his iPhone was the next best thing; there was a guitar app on it and though it wasn’t as easy to play as a real guitar, it got the job done. Pulling the phone from his pocket, he opened up the “guitar” on it, playing a few random chords, annoyed with the small screen. It would have been so nice if he realized he wanted to play before he left his house. Sighing, he began to focus, actually playing something he liked and wrote down the chords and the rhythm in his book.
